If the cam was installed 180 out, since it rotates at half engine speed, the valves would be exactly opposite of what you would need to run properly, no interference with pistons though. Its best to check valves at exactly the opposite of maximum lift, that way you can be sure of a proper adjustment, because the cam is as far as it can get from max lift. Half way down on combustion stroke for intake, Half way on induction stroke for exhaust. No misadjustments that way. With plug out bump engine over until you feet the compression at plug hole, you can put bike in gear and push it with plug out.
